A statement from the International Golf Federation reads well for EDGA, as it recognises the work being done by the association.

“The International Golf Federation has been fully informed of the progressive steps that the European Disabled Golf Association have been taking. We are very impressed with the work that is being done to engage the recognised National Governing Bodies and to broaden the opportunities for golfers with disability. The IGF has been consulted on the development of EDGAs strategy, and are comfortable with the actions being taken to bring all bodies representing golf for the disabled together, and know that over time this will benefit the whole of the game”.

EDGA is now committed to the development of a directory of associations/bodies working with and for golfers with disability.

If you are aware of any credible organisation that is working in this area, please enter the information using the comment link above.

All that we need is the name of the association, a contact person, telephone number, email address, website URL and a single paragraph on how the association is helping to raise awareness of golf for the disabled.

The focus will be on Brussels when four EDGA players take part in a demonstration of golf on the 9th September, in the European Sport Village, during the European Week of Sport.

EDGA has been contacted by a player who has lost a significant part of his right hand. He is a former golfer and now wishes to play again. Any advice on possible prosthesis would really be useful and we can help another person get back into golf. (read more)

A demonstration team from EDGA will take part in the Social Inclusion day in Brussels during The European Week of Sport on the 9th of September 2015.

EDGA has two new members of the Sports Committee, Rob Moss who is already the EDGA Tournament Director and a regular at EDGA tournaments Aurelien Lacour who works with the French Federation.

The biennial EDGA European Team Championships are now open for entry. Ramon van Wingerden of the The Royal Netherlands Golf Federation said that he, “is excited an honoured to be able to send two teams of four of it’s best disabled players to compete in the newly formed European Championships by EDGA”.

EDGA adopts an open golf policy which embraces male and female, amateur and professional golfers. We operate three rankings, gross, nett and stableford. Professional golfers are eligible to be included only in the gross ranking.

Lee Westwood becomes an official Ambassador for EDGA.
