STATEMENT ON THE WORLD RANKINGS FOR GOLFERS WITH DISABILITY
Following a review of the number of events conducted recently and planned globally in the coming weeks, it has been decided to restart the full processing of events within the WR4GD system. This will take effect on 12 August 2020 (Week 32) and the team will continue to monitor the volume of events over the coming months. The 104 week cycle will take into account this period of pause and the events excluded from a player’s record for the Week 32 ranking will be from 2018 Week 15.
Effectively the events that took place within the period of pause, Week 15 to Week 32, will be considered as 1 “super week” which will proceed through the 104 week cycle as 1 week and all the events within that period will fall off a player’s record at the same time in 104 weeks.
The World Ranking for Golfers with Disability (WR4GD) ranks the top golfers with disability on the basis of their average performance in Counting Events over a rolling cycle of the previous 104 weeks.
WR4GD is offered by The R&A and the United States Golf Association as a global service to golf. Through incorporation and assessment of worldwide events, WR4GD encourages the international development of the competitive game.
